As I have mentioned a couple of times, a friend of mine was in the hospital for several days and I stopped in to visit him every day. He is feeing much better and was released Sunday evening. And Sunday night, after bringing him home, I came down with a nasty cold that’s really kicking my butt. That will teach me to hang out in a place full of sick people! And last night Miss Terry started showing the same symptoms.

That being said, I didn’t do much yesterday except go to the post office to mail off my income tax return along with a check with more zeroes on it than were at Pearl Harbor, and to the bank to move some money around to make sure the check clears. I have been told that bouncing a check to Uncle Sam is considered a big no no.

Back at home, I spent most of the rest of the day moaning and sniveling. And sneezing and coughing. Must not forget that, because I was doing it in abundance. It’s been a couple of years since I have had a cold and now I remember why I try to avoid them. No fun at all.

I guess the only bright spot for the day was that I got my first review for Sweet Tea And Jesus, 5 stars and this comment: “O. M. G. There were some strange turns in this story that were TOTALLY unexpected. The story line get pretty raw in some places, but that just makes it more true to character. Nick: how did this story hide in your brain for so long?!? ” An author always appreciates reviews. They help other readers decide on the books they choose. And I especially appreciate nice reviews like this!

I’m sorry, my head is too fuzzy to write more so that’s about all I have for you today. But before I go, I wanted to share this sign that reader Phil Presnell sent me.

Thought For The Day – Some days I wish I had the wisdom of a 90 year old, the body of a 20 year old, and the energy of a 3 year old.

  1. I’m in the same boat, though there’s no one around to hear my sniveling!! Hope you feel better soon, but I know from very recent experience, you’re just getting started. Cough, cough, sneeze …….
