Food And Cuddles

What’s better than having a wonderful dinner with friends, sharing lots of laughter, and forgetting all the cares of the world? Cuddling with a pretty lady, what else?

Our friends Charles and Chris Yust hosted a wonderful Easter dinner for us and our pals Stu and Donna McNicol. You can bet that there was a lot of laughing coming out of their motorhome over the next several hours! Dinner was absolutely delicious, as were the desserts Miss Terry made, and I think we all ate too much. I know I did, for sure!

We first met Donna back when we were teaching at Life on Wheels and she came as a student, though we had been Internet friends before that. Besides being a fascinating woman who had some wonderful experiences in life, including traveling the country solo on her motorcycle, Donna is also an author. Check out her Klondike mystery series, set in a small town in Pennsylvania.

Donna also just lowered the price on another of her popular novels, Home Again, to just $3.29 for a limited time. Grab it while you can at this price! I’ll keep holding her as long as I can so she can’t raise it back up too soon!

Stu and Donna’s Norcold refrigerator just gave up the ghost and we spent some time encouraging them to replace it with a residential unit. I think by the time we parted company we had them pretty much convinced. Last winter we swapped out our Norcold for a Samsung residential refrigerator and we love it.

I know some people are going up to Indiana and having the Amish cooling units installed in their Norcolds rather than continuing to mess with the factory configuration and the risk of fires that they present. But for somewhere around $1000 for a new residential model with a lot more capacity that is also superefficient, for us it was a no-brainer.

Charles and Chris and Stu and Donna all enjoy taking cruises and they have been on many of them. That’s an experience that Terry and I have not had but we have thought about doing sometime, so we also picked their collective brains. You can get some very good last-minute deals here in Florida, so we may have to do that one of these days, just to say we did.

Good news for fans of George Wier’s excellent Bill Travis mystery series! George just released Desperate Crimes, the 11th book in the series, and it’s just as good as the rest. Try it, you won’t be disappointed

Congratulations F. Keith Trantow, winner of our drawing for an audiobook of Ancient Aliens and the Age of Giants: Through the Wormhole by Sharon Delarose. We had 54 entries this time around. Stay tuned, a new contest starts soon.

  1. Will you be sharing the cruise deal information? We would like to know about it if you can. Thanks & love your blog!

  2. Nick,
May I ask you what is your opinion on the Vitrifrigo ac/dc refrigerator? I talked to a supplier at an rv show and for my rig, it would be the 10 cuft. Model.

I know they are expensive, but for me it would be easy since that model fits perfectly for my class c Minnie 31 ft. We don’t dry camp and are not full timers so I think our house batteries would handle the cooling while we are in transit.

Maybe some of your readers out there may have one and chime in. Really would appreciate it . Thanks

  3. Please share the last-minute cruise info as we are also in Florida.

  4. We have a Samsung and it freezes ice cream and keeps it that way! Money well spent

  5. We have the Amish replacement. It keeps ice cream frozen. My wife loves it.
