After spending much of Friday at Hon-Dah RV Park helping Terry’s sister Dani get settled into her new Cedar Creek fifth wheel, we were back again yesterday to help her parents get moved into their Palomino Sabre fiver.
They have a home in Apache Junction but spend the summers here in the mountains. Terry’s other sister, Lisa, and her husband Jim had driven up with her parents, so we had a mini family reunion.
Years ago I had a truck camper, and then a Class C, and Terry and I have had two Class A motorhomes and the MCI bus conversion we built, but fifth wheels are a different animal in many ways. Each type of RV has their advantages and disadvantages, but I think a Class A diesel pusher like our Winnebago Ultimate Advantage fits our lifestyle better than anything else. We’re all different, of course, and as they say in the TV commercials, your mileage may vary.
A few days ago I told you about the upcoming Workamper Rendezvous in Heber Springs. Arkansas. Another great event to mark on your calendar is the Living the RV Dream rally sponsored by John and Kathy Huggins October 21st to 25th, at the Horseshoe Cove RV Resort in Bradenton, Florida. The laid back rally will include seminars by John and Kathy, Jim and Chris Guld of Geeks on Tour fame, our friend Al Hesselbart, former historian for the MH/RV Museum and Hall of Fame, and Greg Gerber, editor of the RV Daily Report. There will also be an island cookout, a pizza dinner, and a BBQ chicken dinner/potluck, door prizes, and evening entertainment. John and Kathy have spent a lot of time picking our brains for suggestions on putting on an RV rally, and I think it’s going to be a lot of fun. Contact John and Kathy at firstname.lastname@example.org for details and registration.
We recently received news that our dear friends Phil and Tracy May have sold their business, TechnoRV, to Eric and Tami Johnson. For years TechnoRV has been a premier supplier of RV technology equipment and we have enjoyed getting together with Phil and Tracey at RV rallies from Coast to Coast. They have not only been business associates, but dear friends that Terry and I cherish. We wish them well in the next phase of their lives, and look forward to getting to know Eric and Tami. I’m sure they are the perfect couple to continue to provide the same friendly, expert service that TechnoRV has always been known for.
