Another Book Done

I finished my newest book, Big Lake Brewpub, yesterday afternoon and started giving it a read through, tweaking things here and there. I’ll finish with that today and then turn it over to Miss Terry for the first round of editing and proofing. When she is done with that I’ll make the necessary revisions and corrections before I send it to my second proofreader. If all goes well the e-book version of it should be available by this time next week.

This is my eleventh novel and the ninth book in the Big Lake mystery series. Add in my nonfiction RV and travel books and the total number is 21. And I’ve still got a lot more to go! Here is the cover of the new book, which was created by the very talented Elizabeth Mackey.

Some of you have asked if I will be doing one of my self-publishing seminars anytime soon. I don’t actually have a schedule in hand yet, but I believe I will be doing one at the Escapees Escapade rally in Vermont this summer. Between now and then I’m always open to consider an invitation to speak somewhere.

I’ve said before that Terry is like the Energizer Bunny and she never stops going and going. While I was working on the new book yesterday she was putting the finishing touches on her latest weaving project. Then she made an absolutely delicious dinner of spaghetti and meatballs. And I’m not talking a quickie dinner with everything out of a can! She makes her own sauce and simmers it for hours, hand rolls and seasons the meatballs, and grates the cheese to sprinkle over everything when it’s served. Why in the world would anybody ever go to the Olive Garden?

I got news of yet another refrigerator fire that destroyed a motorhome at the Orlando Thousand Trails preserve yesterday morning. I can’t begin to tell you how many RV fires I’ve heard of that were started by refrigerators. I am so glad we replaced the Norcold refrigerator in our Winnebago with a Samsung residential model. We have so much more capacity, it works much more efficiently, and we can go to sleep at night knowing the darn thing isn’t going to burn our rig down around us.

Today is your last chance to enter our Free Drawing for the first two audiobooks in Carol Ann Newsome’s excellent Dog Park mystery series, A Shot in the Bark and Drool Baby. Newsome books

Thought For The Day I don’t always want drama, but when I do, I turn on Netflix.

  1. They created Olive Garden because there are not that many Miss Terrys in this world. Great news on the book.

  2. Our Norcold refer caught on fire October 21, 2015. We are the eight thousandth plus to have a fire in the 1200 Norcold model. Thank goodness we were home when it started (we have been full-time since 2009) and my husband was outside doing some yard work and smelled the smoke and yelled for me to turn off the propane and bring the fire extinguisher. He and a couple of friends came and helped get the fire out in the cooling unit. You can not tell on the inside that our RV had a fire. All the damage was outside, melted the skylight in the shower, and worse of all burned the wiring. They had to get a new roof from Newmar so they could get to the wiring and repair it. We are paying to get an Amish cooling unit for our new Norcold, no fires in their cooling unit. It is costing our insurance $53,000.00 for the repairs. Hopefully we get our RV back this week.
