Yesterday was hot and muggy. It almost felt like you could cut the air with a knife. It was a good day for writing and that’s pretty much what I did all day, knocking out another 4,500 words in my new book. I really want to get it done by the end of the month because it’s long overdue.

I like to bring out at least two books a year, and preferably three. But I got so far behind schedule last winter what with medical issues and the loss of our friend Shar Lewis that the last book I published was Dog’s Run in September, and the last book in the Big Lake series, Big Lake Blizzard, came out in April, 2013. It’s time to get back on track.

Besides writing, yesterday I spent some time trying to help a couple of new RVers who were overwhelmed with all of the “advice” they were getting about the things they had to buy before they hit the road. I assured them that they didn’t need a macerator, expensive RV toilet paper, a patio mat, a CB radio, or a generator exhaust stack. Those things (except for the RV toilet paper), are all nice to have but they aren’t essential.

I did refer them to Phil and Tracy May at TechnoRV for a Progressive Industries electrical management system and a TireTraker tire pressure monitoring system. Those are two things I would not be without. Phil and Tracy go out of their way to take care of their customers and stand behind their products all the way.

For dinner Terry made one of my favorite dishes; anchovy garlic aioli, and it was as delicious as always. Earlier in the day she had made several loaves of her whole wheat oatmeal flax bread. It’s another favorite of mine, and judging by Greg and Jan’s reaction when we took a loaf over to them, they were happy to see it, too. Late last night she started a pork roast, the first step to tonight’s dinner, her green chili pork chalupa. And you all wonder why I’m never going to be thin?

Today is your last chance to enter this week’s Free Drawing for an audiobook of Crazy Days in Big Lake, the third book in my Big Lake mystery series, yet? All you have to do is click on the Free Drawing link and enter your name in the comments section at the bottom of that page (not this one). Only one entry per person per drawing please, and you must enter with your real name. To prevent spam or multiple entries, the names of cartoon or movie characters are not allowed. The winner will be drawn this evening.

  1. When Terry bakes bread, does it heat up your RV? Just wondering. LOL

  2. No, she uses her Breville toaster oven, doesn’t seem to heat it up inside the RV.

  4. Well, Nick you usually make us laugh!! And again you did!! Hehe….love your remarks about never being thin (not a good likelihood I will ever be either!!) I am glad you have such wonderful food…both at home and sometimes elsewhere. It encourages others to work on cooking more etc.

  5. She does it in the toaster oven…..I wish I could have come over for lessons! Maybe some day… See storms following you….Elkhart in the red again but no sirens today!!!

  6. Thanks for tire pressure link…just ordered and listed your name as “where I heard”….maybe you’ll get something special!!! :O)
