Now that we’ve got the new issue of the Gypsy Journal finished and shipped off to the printer, it’s time to get back to the fun stuff. It’s a lucky man who considers his work “fun stuff.”
Between proofing the paper as I was working on it, Miss Terry was also proofing a new book, Highway History and Back Road Mystery II, the sequel to my first Highway History book. Yesterday I designed the cover for the new book and then started formatting it for the Amazon Kindle bookstore. Hopefully I’ll get that finished today and get it uploaded, and it will be available in a few days.
Once that is finished I’ll be working on formatting my third Big Lake book, Crazy Days in Big Lake, for a printed edition. That shouldn’t take more than a couple of days.
And then I’ll get back to the next Big Lake mystery, Big Lake Blizzard. I have several chapters done and had hoped to have it ready by Christmas, but that’s not going to happen. I have spent too much time goofing off in the last few weeks. I know some successful authors who can crank out a new book every six or eight weeks but I just can’t work that fast. I wish I could, because I’ve got a lot of book ideas I want to get done, but I can’t work that way.
We also want to run back down to Paradise Oaks RV Resort again to pop in on the TechnoGeek Learning Rally and check in with everybody there. Maybe I can learn something just by osmosis being around all of those technical geniuses.
Sometime along the way, we may sneak off and see a movie. It’s been a couple of years since we went to a movie, and I really want to see Lincoln. Everybody I know who has seen it says it’s an excellent film.
Now that her proofing and editing chores are done for a while, hopefully Terry can devote some time to her crocheting and weaving, and such. I’ve promised her that we’ll spend a good portion of our time this winter sitting still so she can do some of the things she’s been longing to get done. I’m trying to slow myself down because I’m still a Type A guy and want to be doing something all of the time. So I’m sure we’ll sneak off and get into mischief sometime along the way.
Thought For The Day – We’re all insane, and if you don’t believe that, you’re delusional.
